What is Narrow AI?
AI designed to perform a specific task — in contrast to Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). All current commercial AI is narrow AI.
Example in practice
An AI tool that transcribes meeting audio and labels each speaker is narrow AI — it performs those specific tasks well but cannot plan projects, write reports, or reason about the content it transcribes.
