Accessibility Statement

Conformance status

Deliberate Academy aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.

We are actively working toward full conformance. Where gaps exist, we are committed to identifying and resolving them on an ongoing basis.

Technical measures taken

The following measures have been applied throughout the platform:

• Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard alone. Tab order follows a logical reading sequence.
• Semantic HTML — pages use correct heading hierarchy (h1 through h3), landmark regions (main, nav, footer), and descriptive list and table markup where appropriate.
• ARIA labels — icons, toggle controls, and non-descriptive links carry explicit aria-label or aria-labelledby attributes. Decorative images are marked aria-hidden.
• Colour contrast — text and interactive element colours have been selected to meet the WCAG 2.2 AA minimum contrast ratios of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
• Skip links — a skip navigation link is available at the top of each page, allowing keyboard and screen reader users to bypass repeated navigation and jump directly to main content.
• Screen reader testing — core flows (course browsing, lesson reading, exam submission, certificate viewing) are tested with screen reader software as part of our quality process.

Known limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance, some areas may not yet meet all criteria. Known limitations are tracked and prioritised in our ongoing accessibility backlog.

We actively monitor the platform for accessibility regressions as new features are released. If you encounter a barrier not listed here, please contact us (see below) so we can investigate and address it.
